Magnette Meeting in Norwich

As is traditional for the Magnette register, we held our last formal event of the year on the outskirts of Norwich with an open day courtesy of Magnette specialists John & Lou Shorten at their home in Lenwade on Saturday 30th August, with a register presence at the Norfolk police gala event at the showground just off of the A47 on the Sunday. This formula has proved very popular over the years with this year being no exception.

EMR with the Victorian MG car club

Lunch Run to Winery in the Strathbogie Ranges

BLACK IS BACK !

An extract from the B52’s classic song, Love Shack “Hop in my car it is as big as a whale…, were about to set sail” just about explains the context of the MG Saloons. Whilst the 2 seaters can have all their fun, as soon as the family expands, the local constabulary frown upon carting around the future MG drivers hanging off the boot rack. Fortunately, along came Gerald Palmer and saved the day so all of the family can travel under MG power safely, not without style with a genuine MG badge on the grill.

MG Saloon Day

20th July 2008 at Lamport Hall and Gardens

MG Saloon Day is the annual event of the MG 'M' Group - a club that caters for MG Metros, Maestros and Montegos. Lots of the club's members have other MGs so this event allows MGs of all ages to attend and be on display. In recent years large numbers of MGs built by MG Rover (ZR, ZS, ZT, ZT-T) have attended which has been a welcome addition to the show. In 2007 the MG Magnette Register also decided to support the event and it was great to see ten Magnettes at that show.

12th Z Magnette Day

27th - 29th June 2008 in the area of Kassel/Germany

Friday morning. Light showers. But still time to leave for the Magnette Day. I'm sure it will lighten up, as we always had sunny weather on this event!
So was this year! At midday the sun appears and makes the 100+ miles trip a pleasure. Not all of the Magnettes that appeared had the same luck, as some got stuck in Friday afternoon traffic. Anyway. In the end 10 Magnettes from Luxembourg, the Netherlands, England and Germany  assembled in the Kassel area.

Festival of Speed - Goodwood 2008

Pictures: Grant Howlett

Comments from the Magnette BBS:

It was good to see so many Magnettes at the Goodwood Revival meeting on Saturday.
I saw 4 in the pre '66 car park in addition to the two wood top ZA's being raced.
