WHO ARE WE?

  • The Magnette Register belongs to the M.G. Car Club, which was found in 1930 by John Thornley, then sales manager at M.G. in Abingdon.
The Register started in 1972 as a
new section of the MGA Register called the Z-Magnette Group. In March 1974 the Z Magnette Register was fully fledged with it's own committee and title and in September the first national meeting was held at Donnington Park. The Farina section was included in 1998.
    Our main assignments are:
  • Organisation of events and activities - as well as supporting the major M.G. Car Club events
  • Publication of newsletters and articles in Safety Fast! - which keeps members up to date with news, views , tips and events
  • Personal support service
  • Organisation and running of rebuild seminars - and the production of rebuild manuals
  • Technical & historical information and advice
  • Spares and parts service

   WHY JOIN ?

  • You will receive the M.G. Car Clubs award-winning monthly colour magazine "Safety Fast" which is packed full of features, articles, technical tips and information, reports and M.G. cars and spares for sales. Twice a year every Register has a centrespread of four pages with technical articles, reports of events etc.

WHERE TO BECOME A MEMBER ?

  • Any member of the MG Car Club or any of its overseas affiliated clubs can become a member of the Z and Farina Magnette Register. If you are a member of an MG club outside the UK, you need to check whether it is affiliated. We are represented throughout the world. Even as an affiliated club member, it is still worth joining the MG Car Club direct as an overseas member because that way you will receive your own copy of the award-winning club magazine "Safety Fast" every month. This will keep you in touch with M.G. developments and all the Registers have a monthly column with news, technical upates etc. Twice a year, the Register also gets a bigger "centrespread" focusing on Magnettes.

You can join NOW the MGCC online, or by fax or snail-mail.

For historical reasons, we like to know about all Magnettes, whether they are owned by members or not, so anyone is welcome to send in their car details. If you want to add your car to the Register, but think about joining later, click on "Register Your Magnette".
