Kingston Lacy
Despite a good day weather wise, we had a relatively disappointing number of cars attending the Kingston Lacy event. In total, we had 8 Magnettes (3 of which were committee members!), and one Wolseley Fifteen Fifty.
The Magnette details were two ZA's, one of which was a TinTop, one ZB & five ZBV's all of which are well known register car's. The Wolseley Fifteen Fifty belongs to Richard Smailes who also owns a ZA & ZBV - it is a delightfully original car having been recently re-commissioned having been off of the road for many years. Like his Magnettes, the Wolseley is a car that Richard has owned for a very long time which has now been awoken from it's slumbers!. For those unfamiliar with this now rare car, it has the same 1500cc "B" series engine as the Z Magnette, but with a single carburettor (it's "twin" the Wolseley Four Forty Four had the earlier XPAG engine). It made a very nice contrast parked along side the Magnettes.
There was a good mix of other MG's & other classic cars in attendance all in the very nice setting of the Kingston Lacy house grounds. The house & gardens were open to those who wanted enjoy their visit to the full together with a good restuarant. We were made very welcome by our hosts, the Bournemouth & Poole MG Owners Club.
