Kop Hill Climb, 16-17th Sept 2017

The annual Kop Hill Climb event at Princes Risborough (Buckinghamshire) has become a regular fixture for the Register, providing a good opportunity to socialize in the club parking area and plenty of interest watching cars from 1920s onwards on the historic course, as well as many other classics in the static area.

Anthony White tackled the hill once more, hoping to improve on previous years with his early ZA now sporting the larger bore LCB exhaust developed by Trevor Jones - he also remembered to unpack the Register gazebo from his car before the climb ! On Sunday Jeremy Carrington did the run in his Farina Magnette. Both cars probably recorded better times than the motorized sofa built by ‘Wheeler dealer’ Edd China, although it was certainly an impressive piece of engineering.

There were 7 Magnettes present on Saturday, and 6 on Sunday. David Halliday lives nearby and was able to get two of his growing collection there - the ZB formerly owned and raced by Jan Pearce, and the ZA rallied by Warren Marsh. In fact Warren arrived himself on Sunday, in his MGA, along with several other Magnette owners who travelled by other means. The weather was somewhat cool for the time of year, but apart from Saturday evening it stayed more or less dry, so all in all a pleasant weekend, which also helped to raise funds for local charities.
