Inter-club weekend 28-30 June 2024
MGs were for once in the minority at this event which involved a large Triumph TR Register presence and a number of other car clubs as well as MGCC. Hosted in the Three Counties Showground, close to the beautiful Malvern hills, most MGs were mixed together in one parking area, where the Register stands were also located.
There were fewer Magnettes than at the equivalent Silverstone weekend, but still sufficient for judging the NTG Concours trophy which had been announced as taking place at the event. With a split decision about the best and most original Magnette, the trophy was eventually awarded to two cars. Fred Bury's single-colour red Varitone with its distinctive period sunroof was restored several years ago and is seen regularly at our events, but still looks very impressive. Bill Piggott's black ZB on the other hand was a first-time visitor, as he bought it in 2023 after it had been in the same family for most of its life and stored unused in recent years. With less than 50k miles on the clock the original details and factory-fresh panel gaps attracted considerable interest
