Magnette at Myrniong Historic Car Sprint
These pictures are of my Magnette and two others at at the Myrniong Historic Car Sprint ( about 1hour from Melbourne, Victoria, Australia) organised by the Austin 7 Club and is held along a country road. It is 850 metres long from the start and rises 60 metres with two bends one to the right and the other to the left and a dip just before the finish. The start and the road can be seen in one of the photos (road goes behind the house).
The Magnettes where all entered in the touring cars 1941-1958 all capacities. The cars where the only ones in the group and a great day was had by all. Both Trevor Tonkins (#55, 1800cc) and John Hartley (#156, 1553cc) came first with a equal time of 37.2 seconds and myself (David Dixon #309, 1620cc) third with a time of 44.2. Trevor holds the record with a time of 36.7seconds and John travels over from Tasmania for the event. This was the first event for myself and "Lizzie" and we both have room to improve.
