Lou Shorten weekend 4-5th October 2025
We gathered at John Shorten's house in Lenwade on Saturday for our traditional weekend remembering legendary Magnette parts supplier Lou Shorten. The weather was cool, windy and damp, so most people stayed inside. There were 8 Magnettes including Lou's own ZA which John still maintains.
The Register AGM on Saturday afternoon was as usual short and unexciting !
At the Saturday evening dinner the NTG trophy for 2025 was awarded to Roger Martin for his striking ZA restoration (including wire wheels) which has recently been completed after several years of work
A visit to Blickling Hall was planned for Sunday, which dawned sunny and less windy, however this had stayed closed after the high winds. Following a quick discussion it was decided to gather at the nearby Whitwell and Reepham steam railway. Although this has just a short section of track it was an ideal location for a relaxed morning, and we coincided happily with a visit by the North Norfolk Morris Minor club
