Preparation for the next Rally
Next month I am taking part in Phillip Young's Casablanca Challenge in Morocco, driving the Magnette.
In preparation for next year's Peking to Paris and after the previous total suspension redesign (which increased ground clearance by up to 3 inches), we have now:
- installed a stage-2 1860 cc MGB engine with a Weber carburettor producing a little extra power;
- re-routed the exhaust manifold and pipes, so they no longer come out ahead an under the front axle, as before;
- and have reinforced the rear axle.
I am taking the car out this weekend for the first time to run-in the engine, but in the meantime I thought you would like to see how the new arrangements look like. Details of how it feels will be sent in a couple of weeks...
Best regards.
