This a very good solution,by using a later Morris Minor/MGA 1600 front light back plate and lens a similar effect can be had, but with an amber turn signal, the chrome rim is the same.
I saw this on a Magnette recently in Totton on the south coast, the driver was very inconsiderate and did not stop, otherwise I would have asked him, he had also converted the reversing light into a brake light.
Judging from the lights immediate reaction they looked LED, great idea though, look really good.

My ZB is fitted with trafficators. Fitting flashers to the front was easy, I obtained some tripod headlights with built in sidelights, these give a much better light. The sidelights were modified to take an amber indicator bulb. I like the unclutered look at the rear and think amber lights look out of place. I obtained some flexible strips of white leds, these have to be cut to length , they can be fitted inside the edge of the original light. To avoid problems with the flasher unit these lights become the brakelights, the brakelights now become the indicators, sidelights remain the the same, having all red lights is not ideal ,but a high level brakelight can be fitted in the rear window and the trafficators are pretty bright at night and can be fitted with flashing bulbs. Extra wiring and a flasher unit are required and the ZB has a dash warning already installed, the original trafficator switch can be used.
