Ah thanks - looks like the heater has been disconnected - that's a worry - and the two pipes on the cylinder head connected together. Need to investigate the heater or install a fan heater.

Hi Acoster,

The Magnette heater valve is located in the most inaccessible place imaginable. Behind the heater box at the left-hand side!

As you can see in the attached scan, the hose from the heater valve (14) is the lower of the two hoses coming through the bulkhead, and connects with the copper pipe (36) that runs forward alongside the rocker cover to connect into the bottom radiator hose. The upper heater hose connects to the water elbow on the right hand side of the cylinder head.

I can't find a diagram or picture showing cooling system hose layout. In the car I am restoring there are two (presumably) heater hoses coming from inside the car - where do they go? Car is 57 ZB.
The rad hoses are still in place and I can see how to replace them but there is no heater valve like on other cars I have restored.
Any pics or advice appreciated
