COZM 2010 at Arcen/Netherlands

11 Magnettes (and their passengers of course) came together for a relaxed one-day event at Arcen, just behind the German/Dutch border. Most cars came from the Netherlands, but there were also two from Belgium and my car from Germany.

A Magnette at the Palace

Report by Malcolm Eades

Petrol-heads who parted with £10.00 at the entrance to the Sevenoaks and District Motor Club’s “Motorsport at the Palace” event were handsomely rewarded with two days of excellent sprinting on a tight little track nestling in the natural amphitheatre at Crystal Palace.

Athelhampton 2010

There were 8 Magnettes at this year's Bournemouth Area MGOC picnic. This number was slightly down on last year, however it was still a good lineup (with Varitones in the majority) and the house and gardens provided the perfect backdrop for classic MGs.

MGLive 2010 at Silverstone

The annual MG Car Club event at Silverstone took place on 4-6 June. I was there just for the Saturday, spending some of my time on the Register stand in the main marquee. Unusually for a British summer, the weather was warm and sunny most of the time, so the committee members on duty were actually feeling the heat. The theme for display cars in the marquee this year was ‘MGs in racing’, and we were very fortunate to have as our exhibit a ZB owned and raced by Bruce Chapman, grandson of the 1950s rally driver Nanci Mitchell.
