BCLM, Wroxall and AGM - 2-3 July 2016
On Saturday morning about 12 Magnettes assembled at the Black Country Living Museum, along with a couple of other MGs and owners without their Magnettes. The day was overcast to start, with light rain, but not enough to spoil our enjoyment of the museum, which really brings to life the industrial history of the area with reconstructed buildings and machinery, populated by a ‘cast’ in period costume and appropriate accents. The tour of a real drift mine and the demonstration of chain-making by hand were particularly fascinating.

20th Z Magnette Day
20 years ago 3 German and two British Magnettes met in the middle of Germany for a BBQ. There was no programm other than sitting together, talking, eating and drinking. It was the first time so many cars assembled in one place in Germany.

Saturday dawned cold, cold enough for the central heating to forget it was officially summer. The journey from Northampton to Silverstone was completed in drizzly rainbut it did improve from lunchtime.

Magnettes & Steam - 26th March
As usual the first event of the UK season was Magnettes & Steam, at the Peak Rail Rowsley South centre. Although the railway only runs just over 3 miles from Rowsley to Matlock, it has a fascinating history, being part of the Midland line from Derby to Manchester, which required many engineering challenges to be overcome through the Derbyshire hills, as well as negotiations with the landowners of Chatsworth and Haddon Hall.

ZMG receive Register award
The 'Magnetteer of the Year' trophy is awarded by the Register committee to recognize particular achievement or endeavour by a Magnette enthusiast. The winner receives the 'Rosebud Cup', presented to the Register by Leonard 'Eddie' Edwards, one of the founding members.
