A search within www.monroeshop.co.uk/ fails to find PN R-2559. A general web search turns up a few odd single items and several NLAs or unobtainables. Looks as though these may have been discontinued.

Gobby sold me a pair of Monroe shocks for the front of my car, Part no R-2559, listed as for a Fiat/ Seat but fitted very easily.
Have fitted Trevor's rollbar too but have not driven the car yet so can't report on how it drives.
These shocks are listed on www.monroeshop.co.uk for £39 each.

Hello Andy , Trust you are both well, and survived the worst of the winter.

The front end bounce is evident on my car before I have even put it on the road, modern shocks seem to control rebound rather than compression, or so I was told by a guy at Spax, which is at odds to the original double acting hydraulic shocks. I am concerned that the original 55 year old shocks could be lacking some of their original performance ( I know the feeling) therefore I thought now is the time to sort out the problem.

The rear ones are readily available by Monroe, the fronts seem to be the problem.

Thanks for your input , I am pleased the ARB is doing its job, it certainly tightens up the front end a lot, the car corners pretty flat, instead of heeling over. A friend of mine has one fitted to a very non standard Wolseley 15/50 ( Ford Sierra Cosworth Twin Cam with turbo 5 speed box) absolutely transforms the handling.
