5 Speed - Propshaft clearance

Ray Hunt is installing a Hi-Gear 5-speed conversion, and encountered a common problem where the lowering of the gearbox tail causes the propshaft to hit the cross-piece across the bottom of the tunnel, with the suspension deflected downwards.
The problem can be fixed by using an angle grinder to cut some of the cross-piece away, but Ray instead removed this piece entirely and cut away part of the bottom before reattaching it in a new lower position to increase clearance, as shown in the photos. With the car on a lift access was very easy and the job was completed in around 2 hours
